You Saved Kathleen from Hunger, Forever!

We are thrilled to announce that your incredible support made it possible to enroll Kathleen into the Senior Citizen Project! YOU have now saved her from hunger, forever. I asked for your help, and you came forward, ensuring that Kathleen never has to worry about where her next meal will come from.

Thank you to the many wonderful people that gave, and to the amazing donors that provided $8,000 in matching gifts to your generous donations; Harry Sailer and Anonymous donors.

73 year-old Kathleen has been patiently waiting to be enrolled in the Senior Citizen Project. Thanks to you, when Dean shared the great news that she was being enrolled, Kathleen became very excited. They talked about the grocery gift card she will receive every month to the store of her choice. Kathleen also learned that she can email the HSP staff with her grocery list and then pick up the fresh produce, groceries and essentials at the center.

Kathleen has had a very difficult year with her cancer surgery and coping with other serious health issues. Through it all she would have to visit food pantries because she couldn't afford enough to eat after her bills were paid. Kathleen told Dean, "if it weren't for your help, I couldn't make it." Now, thanks to your compassionate heart, Kathleen will always have nutritious meals to eat along with paper products and hygiene items like soap and shampoo.

We are honored to be surrounded by remarkable people who, every day, give of themselves to care for others.

At the end of the conversation, Kathleen told Dean, "I am going to send you my list and have my neighbor drive me so I can meet everyone there." Thank you for making it possible for Kathleen to never worry about where her next meal will come from and giving her a place to receive the support she needs.
