On April 10th I walked into work and I was met by a senior who arrived on the Pace bus. Anne found out about HSP through a social worker at the county. She filled out the application last week and is currently on the waiting list. Anne doesn't have a car, she has survived cancer and has been feeling very lonely. I made her a cup of tea, and she relaxed in the chair while she waited for the bus to bring her back home. During her time here, we had a lovely conversation and she told me how good it felt to get out. When she got up to leave, Anne gave me a big hug. I walked her to the bus pushing her cart full of produce and groceries and she told me how thankful she was to come today. As I waited for the bus to leave, Anne sat in the seat and waved goodbye with a big smile on her face. This time spent with Anne really touched me and made my day.
