A Winning INCubator Team!

Hi Friends,

This week has been very exciting. As some of you know, for the last three years I have been a mentor at Lake Park High school in Roselle for their INCubator program.  Denise, a long-time donor at HSP introduced me to Dan Colucci who teaches this amazing program. Before work on Thursday morning's I head into the classroom along with my co-mentor Hannah to guide a team of students.

I bet you are wondering what is the INCubator program?

In the INCubator course, students engage in hands-on, entrepreneurial learning by developing a business of their own. The course culminates in a Pitch Night event, where students present their business plan in a “shark tank” competition where winning projects are awarded scholarships.

I am extremely excited to announce that our team, Auraia Chicago won the Final Pitch and a $6,000 scholarship for these four incredible entrepreneurs to use towards growing their business.

This program has been very intense and the path to get to the final pitch has been a lot of work for the team. They developed the idea, the website, and social media plans. They conducted surveys, created the formula, produced the product, and packaging design. Projected costs and revenue streams and sold their initial product along with designing and formulating a special release.

Click HERE to visit the Auraia Chicago website so you can see firsthand the fragrance primer that Dex, Joey, Jessica and Himakshee created.

I am sharing the website with you, not because I want you to buy anything but because I am incredibly proud of what these four incredible high school students accomplished in their senior year.

I am very thankful to have worked alongside with my co-mentor Hannah in guiding this gifted group of students. I believe that we all have our ways of serving and gifts to share with others. The support you give to children when you volunteer at HSP, donate important essentials and provide financial support, enables other children to succeed just as these students did this school year. For this I am very grateful as all children deserve the opportunity to shine!

As we come to the end of the week, I hope you all have a relaxing and joyful Memorial holiday weekend my friends.

Yours in love and service,

Kristin Senne
Executive Director
