Stock & Shred Event
HSP's Executive Director, Kristin Senne had fun having her arm painted at the first Stock & Shred Event held at HSP. A good time was had by all and seniors and children were helped through this event. People contributed food, toys and monetary donations for each box of papers to shred.

We are very appreciative to the employees at Miller Cooper & Co, Ltd. for the large donation of school supplies. This donation will help children as they start back to school so they have what they need to succeed in the classroom. Way to go friends!

Crossfit Roselle
Thank you to our amazing friends at CrossFit Roselle for this incredible donation of school supplies. The members and owners come to the gym to stay fit, but they also help provide for those in need through important drives such as this one. Community is a large focus of CrossFit, and now many children will have what they need to start the school year off right thanks to their loving support!

Cruisin' Tigers Indian Uprising
HSP was honored to be a selected charity for the Cruisin' Tigers Indian Uprising event. Kristin, HSP's Exec. Director volunteered at registration where she snapped this picture of Winston the dog and his owner as they drove into the show. Many people were in attendance and the club donated money to help children receive nutritious meals, and birthday boxes through the Children's Project.

Capco Donates School Supplies
We received a huge donation from our new friends at Capco in Chicago. Olivia a Capco employee, was kind enough to fight rush hour traffic on her drive from Chicago to drop off these amazing book bags filled with school supplies. Thanks to their support 48 children will receive the supplies they need to start the school year off right!

Love Like Lija Foundation
We received beautiful birthday bags for 25 children to celebrate their special day and have a party. Angela Hyssong shared this beautiful quote with us when she sent the photos to HSP. "Lija Hyssong was a young lady who cared selflessly for others so in honor of her 25th birthday celebration a couple of months ago, supporters of the Love Like Lija foundation sponsored 25 birthday bags to bless children of families in need." We are very blessed indeed to receive these amazing bags in memory of Lija!

Crane Charitable Funds
We were honored to receive a donation from the Crane Charitable Funds. What makes this donation so special is that a Crane Composites associate, Kate (on left) recommended our organization and feels passionate about our mission. Kate's, Aunt Diana (on right) volunteers in our pantry every week preparing bags of food for families and children. The Crane Charitable funds touch the lives of many through its efforts to support issues around food insecurity, any many other worthy causes.

Essendant Charitable Foundation
We were greeted by our amazing friends at Essendant this week with a donation. The Essendant Charitable Foundation awarded a grant, as directed by the Carol Stream Council to support HSP's mission and work. The Board wrote a beautiful letter and extended their best wishes for the success of our programs. We are incredibly thankful for their support which provides meals and essentials to low-income children and seniors.

Science of Spirituality
I was thrilled to visit with Jonathan from the Science of Spirituality (SOS) earlier this week. The wonderful SOS members provided a matching gift to those that gave to Giving DuPage Days in May. Families and seniors are coming to the HSP center daily to pick up nutritious produce and important items such as toothpaste and toilet paper which their donation helps provide.

Carol Stream Community Food Drive
Thank you to the Rotary of Carol Stream, Glenbard North High School, the Village of Carol Stream and the incredible Carol Stream community for providing a van full of groceries for children, their families and seniors suffering from hunger. Floyd Kettering, HSP's Co-Founder and CFO was joined by Carol Stream Mayor Frank Saverino and Village Board Trustees at this amazing event. Thank you for sending children, and seniors to bed with full bellies and giving them a place, they can come for help!

It is always a great way to start January, visiting with our Kiwanis Club Friends in Villa Park. This amazing club sponsors a child in the Children's Project and makes a birthday celebration and party possible with family and friends. Thanks for your tremendous support, Kiwanians!

Meet Hazel
Arlene a senior in the Senior Citizen Project emailed us a picture of her adorable kitty, Hazel. Every month Hazel receives a PetSmart gift card, so she has nutritious food to eat. Arlene is incredibly appreciative for her meals around the table and Hazel's too!
